Questions

Did anyone watch Opera on Monday? The show where mothers could say whatever they wanted about motherhood and not be judged? What do you think? They didn't really have a single GOOD thing to say.

I've been up late, every night in a row, I'm even too tired to list all the things I have going on right now.... Does anyone think it is wrong to take Excedrin MOSTLY because I need the caffine?

Does anyone have a fast/easy/good potato recipe? I'm tired of mashed, baked, and fried. My family is coming over tonight for shish-ka-bobs, baked beans, and some sort of potato. Suggestions?

Does anyone have any pros/cons to spray tanning in the "booth" versus the "airbrush lady?" I'm weirded out about someone spray tanning me.

I want to find out more about the carpet samples... email me!

As for Spray tanning. I would do it in the booth. I just use self tanner in the bottle at home.

Hum.. Potato recipes. We do the same typical recipes. Go to www.pioneerwoman.com I made her crash potatos last week with steak. They were great!

I LOVE the pioneer woman!! but I think you have to go to www.thepioneerwoman.com not just pioneer woman...I'm sure her potato recipe is fabulous!! I didn't watch Oprah, I can't imagine saying NOTHING good about motherhood!! As for spray tanning, I have done the booth before, and it wasn't too bad...you just have to make sure you rub it with the towel when you get out to make sure you get it all rubbed in. I'm not sure about someone spraying me either...HA! And I do not think it is bad to take Excedrin for the caffeine...unless you do it all the time! :)

Okay, so I did watch Opera! The day I find out that I am having Reed in 3 days I come home to relax for a minute before cooking dinner and I turn it on to her show (I DVR it every day, but RARELY watch them, there are 25 on the DVR right now....but I just happen to turn this one on)! I couldn't believe some of the stuff I was hearing I literally just stopped and said a prayer that I would always remember that show when I was having a bad moment, I will always strive to enjoy my children no matter what...but I realize where they are coming from on some level, but they took it to the EXTREME!!

We always go with twice baked potatos! Cook them in the microwave (5 mins on each side...you can cook several at once). Then cut them in half or you can use them whole. Hollow out the insides use your mixer to mash the potatoes with sour cream, butter, cheese, salt and pepper and then fill the potatoes back up, top with cheese and bake for about 20-30 mins.

I must say I got sprayed tanned for maternity pics and it was AMAZING!! Very expensive though, I will admit and it lasted for about 10 days. It was very embarassing staying there practically naked in front of someone right up on you, but I kept telling myself they do this all the time! I heard on the radio this morning that Indulgence By Body Bronze is doing a 1/2 off special tomorrow only for 1st time customers....I am so jealous, b/c I loved doing it before, totally worth it for a special occasion. Everyone commented on how natural it looked, even my doctor asked where I got it done! :) Booth tanning always left streaks in funny spots on me, but I am sure everyone is different.

Okay, so I gave my 2 cents on everything! Can't wait for you to meet Reed!

My favorite potato recipe to make/eat when there's a big crowd is "picnic potatoes." In fact, Donna requested I make them this weekend for our Easter dinner...I LOVE them with baked beans:)

*1 can cream of chicken
*8 oz sour cream
*1 tbs.onion powder-or use fresh diced onion, just saute them in some butter first to soften them.
*1 tsp salt
*8 oz velveeta cheese-cubed
1 bag of frozen hashbrowns-I use the shoestring kind.
1/4 cup (or more depending on amt. of cornflakes you like)
Cornflakes

*Mix the first 5 ingredients in a big pot on medium heat until the velveeta is melted.
Break up your hashbrowns in the bag and pour in the big pot and stir just until the potatoes are covered.
*Spray 9X13 with Pam and pour the potatoes mixture in.
*Melt your butter in a bowl in the microwave and add cornflakes-pour on top of the potatoes. I like alot of cornflake topping, so i tend to use more butter and cornflakes.
*Bake at 350 degree for 45 minutes. I cant remember if I cover it?? I would probably cover for first 30 minutes at least. then uncover so the cornflakes get nice and crisp.

I have never met anyone who doesnt love these potatoes!

that should have said 1/4 cup butter-thats what the recipe calls for. But really I bet I use a whole stick of butter and about 4 cups of cornflakes. Not great for the diet, but so yummy:)

ok, i caught part of oprah on monday, and i found it mostly humorous...especially when the woman said she sometimes 'fake cries' to make her kids feel sorry for her. i don't agree with most of what those women said, but then again, i'm not a mom...well at least not for a few more days.

i don't think your abuse of excedrin is a bad thing...i do the same thing with benadryl when i can't sleep.

it's a little late on the potatoes, but i have a great recipe from my mom-in-law that i will send you when i unpack all my boxes...someday...

do the airbrush! it's worth the extra $ and awkwardness.

Ok so here is my favorite - very easy - potato recipe. I use the little red potatoes b/c one for David and one for me are perfect serving sizes. Cut your potato into bite size pieces. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary or whatever spices you like. Place in a baking dish (I use my 8x8 corningware). Stretch plastic wrap across the top and stab a couple of slits in it with a knife. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. They kind of steam/roast and end up perfectly done and smell delicious. I've also tossed broccoli, zucchini and other veggies in as well. Enjoy!

Charity-did you do the spray tanning? I have an event this weekend and am considering it-never done it, dont know anything. Where is a good place to do it? How much?
